Quick update

Nothing on the blood tests yet unfortunately.

But for some reason, I decided to drink some Gatorade in hopes of making me feel better. And ya know what, oddly enough - it did! I don't know if it was just a coincidence or what, but I feel like I have a little more energy today. And a very mild headache for the first time in awhile!! Maybe my electrolytes have just been off enough to make me feel fatigued too.

I did have the runs a little bit, so not sure if it was too much sugar for my body or what. But I've done quite a bit today! I took care of another little girl since HER mom wasn't feeling so well. I took all the kids to lunch (they have off today due to the jewish holiday), then brought them back to the house to play. I cleaned up, did a couple loads of laundry and we even put the halloween decorations out. I hope not to pay for it in the next day or so, but we'll see. At least I have another idea of what it could be tho. Still waiting for the docs to call tho. I won't bother them til Friday. They should know by then right?!?!?

Nothing new going on

I feel bad going more than a few days w/o posting. But I don't have anything new to post. I don't know how many times I can post that I'm still tired, achey etc. I'm waiting impatiently for one of the two doctors to call me today in hopes they can give me some news in regards to my bloodwork. I really want to start the thyroid med in hopes that it helps (just the right dosage). I'd also like to know if my period will come back. Not sure if my ob/gyn can answer that, but I'll take anything at this point.

Yesterday we stayed home and didn't do anything. I felt nauseas last night and not sure why - as usual. Doing some cleaning and laundry today though. Will take it easy. If I hear from either of my docs, I'll post. : )

16 weeks post op

It's been 4 months since surgery. Wish I could say I felt GREAT, but I'm getting there. I had EIGHT vials of blood drawn this morning for two different docs. Hopefully I'll hear something this week, when they get the results and see how incredibly low they are. hehe!

I have been feeling ok. Did 20 min blocks of cleaning yesterday, but it still wore me out if I just really put myself into it. An example would be: I changed the sheets on both kids bed, dusted both rooms and vacuumed. When I was done, I felt like I ran a marathon. I was shaky and just weak. I laid down and I think I dozed off and on for about an hr. It was weird. I was fine, just tired the rest of the day.

Today, after I got my blood drawn, I had to take my daughter to a birthday party. I didn't stay (it was a bowling party) I came back home and went to lunch with my son and husband. Then I went back to pick her up. I had gotten a headache though that was not going away. I drank some Diet Coke, took some excedrin... Tonight we were all invited to another bday party, but I just was not feeling up to it. I went, but didn't stay long. I felt overall just ill. Didn't feel hungry or anything and wasn't very social. So hubby took me home. So here I am now. I will probably go to bed early tonight. Maybe taking all that blood this morning took all my energy with it. Who knows.

Doctors, doctors and more doctors

I think I may be in the running for a single person seeing the most doctors!! In the last 9 months, I've seen: a chiropractor, a dentist, an endocrinologist, an ENT, a neuroradiologist, a neurosurgeon, an ophthalmologist, an orthopedist, a physical therapist, a podiatrist, and a primary care doc, and of course not to mention all the docs I've gone too for my kids - the pediatrician, the allergist, the dermatologist and the pediatric dentist. Phew. That's way too many docs for that short period of time IMO. But thankfully 90% of them were incredibly helpful this year. And of those listed, only 4 of them I've actually had to change doctor offices.

I've traveled more and farther, more than I have in my entire life. I've gotten my blood taken more than I have in the last 10 years I think! I'm sure there are people out there that are in the same situation or even worse having to go from doc to doc just to get treated. Lord knows I've finally learned the medical profession doesn't know as much as you'd think they should. And as sad as it is, some don't even care to try to learn more. They diagnose and move on, not even caring if it's right or not. And God forbid any internet research was brought into it. Should the patient know more than doc?? That would be just crazy now, wouldn't it!? Ugh. I could go on and on, but I won't. Quick update on me, then I'm going to bed.

Last 2 days, I've been doing good. Medium sized appetite, drinking normally, feeling ok for the most part. Still bothered by my knees and back and feeling like an old person on most days. I'm only 35, I shouldn't feel 65. But I'm finally working with some local docs to get my blood taken and get these dang hormones taken care of. My primary doc actually thinks my knees and back pain is related to the adrenal insufficiency and lack of anti-inflammatory properties. I do know it can be part of it, but I hope it's not all of it. If it is tho, is there any way to fix it? Will I be on anti-inflammatory meds for the rest of my life? Again, hoping once the rest of the hormones are evened out, we'll see what's left.

Nothing exciting to report tho. Just going day to day and doctor to doctor. Such is the life of a cushie patient.

Back to School night

Did a little better today. Ate a good breakfast, did some cleaning, watched some tv... Then my MIL came over and I went downhill from there. I always seem to stress myself out with her around. She watches everything I do and I feel is sometimes critical of the way hubby and I are with the kids. Yet she spoils them rotten and wonders why they don't appreciate things. I know my mom spoils them too. And I know it's a grandparent thing. But geez.

We picked the kids up, let them play on the playground for a little while, then took them to the halloween store where she bought them each a costume. Then we went to the dollar store to look for accessories for the costumes. But they should rename it the Junk Store. Cuz that's all my kids get from it. I had a headache and a backache by the time we got home. I was ready to fall right asleep too. I felt sick to my stomach and had only a small bowl of cereal for dinner.

I had to suck it up tho, cuz it was Back to School night. Finally to get up close and personal with the teachers. Especially the teacher that's causing so much havoc in my son's life right now. Both teachers seem nice and I'm hopeful that they'll both help my children with their individual issues. Now that I understand the teachers, hopefully I can work with the kids better at home. And hopefully it won't be AS stressful. As we know I don't need that. I did tell the teachers I will help out in the class as needed. I am worried about that, cuz I know I'm so susceptible to getting sick easier. I just don't want to put my life on hold worrying I'll get sick. I'll just take it one cold or virus at a time. Ugh. Can't help worry tho. *sigh*

So now we're home and I'm ready for bed. It's been a long day. . .

I have a case of the Mondays....

Ever hear of that line from the movie "Office Space"? Made me think of it today as I'm just feeling blah. I got a call on Friday afternoon with more of my levels from my testing last Monday. Turns out my IGF-1 levels are 58 with the low normal range being at 115. So I am quite deficient in growth hormone. They told me I had to find someone to do a Growth Hormone test locally or I would have to come back out to Seattle. *sigh* I didn't know this would be such an issue. My local endo hasn't even heard of that test!! Grr.. I'm calling all major hospitals in the tri-state area to see if they have it and can do it for me. No luck yet.

My ACTH was at 17, and the range for that was 6-48. So normal I guess. I've never had a normal ACTH number, so I guess it's good. Seems almost high for having a cortisol level of 1. Maybe slight addisons? I have no idea. I hate still feeling so stupid about all this. I'm just still out of sorts. I'm hoping it's just cuz my hormones are so out of whack right now.

I talked to my ob/gyn this morning and he's running another round of labs for female hormones. I made him add free T3 and free T4 along with DHEA. Hopefully these will give me more answers. I want to take the thyroid meds if it will help, but not at the expense that I'm on too much and it will cause other problems. Since I'm not really "low" yet, just the low end of normal, I'm not gonna push my luck until I get more answers. I have my annual with my ob/gyn on Oct 30th, so I'll get to talk to the doc more then. Until then, I just have to deal with the crazy symptoms. The hardest one is feeling somewhat depressed. Sometimes I just cry at the drop of a hat and think things are too much for me and that I can't handle it. But I have no one here to take care of me, so I have to deal with it and just be there for my kids. They are my strength (as well as my weakness) right now.

Other than feeling just "blah", I'm doing ok. It was nice to see my dad this weekend. . I think he had a good time. My kids loved having him around. We went to Medieval Times on Saturday. He left Sunday afternoon. He could see what kind of shape I was in and was worried about me. Especially with my son pushing every one of my buttons. I didn't eat too much while he was here, but I've been drinking quite a bit again. Some days I don't drink much at all, and other days I'm drinking like a fiend. That must be hormone related too. Same goes for eating too. Some days the thought of food makes me sick and others I'm eating like a pig. I should probably start writing down all I eat & drink again and see if there's a pattern. We'll see.

Hubby is at grad school tonight and kids have CCD tonight. So I'll get a little peace later too. As soon as hubby gets home from school (usually around 10), I'll go to bed. Since I sleep so soundly, I'm afraid of being alone with the kids. Always afraid I won't hear them if they need me. But it's another one of those crazy things with me. I just have to get it all worked out...and soon.

Kids can lower cortisol levels too

After a long weekend flying and the time change and all, I had a fight with my son. He's 6 and I'm 35. Let's just say it took everything out of me to take everything away from him. He would NOT listen to me. I took every toy out of his room until he realized I was in charge. Hubby was in grad class, so he couldn't help me. I literally let my son wear me down tho. By the time it was all said and done Wednesday, I was hunched over the toilet praying I wouldn't puke. It was horrible and I felt awful. Hubby finally came home and was able to deal with him. But enough to make me feel guilty, making me feel worse. It was a long night. I couldn't even get up to take the kids in the morning. Not that I didn't try. Thankfully, hubby took the kids to school for me and I went back to bed. Slept til about 1:30pm. I looked horrible too. At least that's what my dad said when he came to visit us. He said I looked white and just pale. And this was just last night - 24 hrs after the incident. I was able to eat a little and drink a lot. I slept well tho last night.

That definitely helped. I felt better this morning. Took a shower and ate a nice breakfast. My dad took the kids to school, so I got to rest more. My dad and I had a nice day. We went out to lunch, I took him to get his haircut, we went grocery shopping... It was nice to have time alone with him! We haven't had that since I lived at home. I'm definitely feeling better today.

It's funny though, because while I was in Seattle and even on the plane, my knees didn't swell at all and all my aches were less. Must be something about the air pressure or sea level or something. . . Now it's back tho. *sigh* I did get the rest of my labs from Seattle and it seems I am REALLY low on growth hormone (along with the thyroid) and that might be causing some of these issues. Now just to get THOSE worked out. That's a whole new post tho. For now, I'm off to put the kids to bed and hopefully to bed early myself. Now lets just hope my son doesn't give me a hard time. *sigh*

Back from Seattle with updates!!

Phew! Short trip, but very informative. I'll do a recap day by day...

Sunday: Left for the airport at 9:30am. Kids came with hubby and I. Thankfully no one really got upset. We all knew this would be a short trip, so it was ok. I was nervous tho. I hate flying. Just wanting to make sure I get there and back safely. Thankfully I did. The ride out was very nice. No turbulence or other disturbances. I ate lunch on the plane (and after not eating breakfast, I was hungry!). I get nervous beforehand, so I didn't want to puke.

Got in right at 3pm PST and my friend was there to pick me up! It was so nice to have someone there to spend time with and not have to go back to the hotel alone. So we went to the hotel to drop off my stuff and then headed back out to dinner. After dinner we went downtown Seattle by the Puget Sound and it was really nice. It was such a beautiful day!! I got to see the Space Needle up close and everything. I felt like I'd come full circle too because where we were downtown was where I went when I first went to Seattle for a work conference 12 yrs ago!! Ironic eh?!?!

I wasn't able to stay out too late, cuz I was tired. That 3 hr difference is huge! So around 7pm we went back to the hotel and I went up to bed. I tossed and turned a lot tho. I think I was nervous and overwhelmed. It was also weird to be there alone - w/o my mom or any other cushie friends. I was also freaking out about how I couldn't take any hydro until after the test the following morning. I got my stomach all upset and everything. I finally fell asleep at 10pm PST.

Monday: I did get up early, well early PST. It was about 6:30-7am and my appt wasn't til 9am! I took a shower, dressed, got my stuff all organized and went downstairs. I wasn't sure if I was allowed to eat anything and forgot to ask. It didn't say to fast, so I didn't. I drank a pint of milk and I bought some G2 Gatorade to have too. I drank all the milk and was still thirsty, so I drank a few sips of the Gatorade. Went to admin to register at 8:30am and then to the infusion center by 8:45am. There was another woman there that was getting tested as well. It was sooo nice to have someone else to talk to. We were warned about conversing about our cases and all as Dr. L doesn't like that. But we kept it simple.

I had a slight headache and was very chilly. The ladies at the infusion center got me a warm blanket and then started the labs. I only got chillier as the time went on. Not sure if that was part of the test or not. But I chatted to help keep my mind off it. I couldn't wait to take my meds tho. When the nurses finally took my last blood draw, I took my meds immediately after. I told them how I get sleepy once I take my meds, so they let me stay and moved me to another chair in the room to be out of the way and put more warm blankets on me. I stayed and chatted and rested right up til I had to leave for my appt with Dr. M (the neurosurgeon).

At my appt, I got a lot of information. It was one of the reasons I loved having my mom there. I had my list, but got flustered and couldn't think of anymore as he was telling me stuff. He got me very nervous tho. He told me I had two separate things going on in my head. As it turns out, the tumor they saw on the last MRI was actually something called a prolactinoma. It's the hormone thats secreted when breastfeeding. (except I haven't breastfed in FIVE years!) That was the tumor they took out on the first surgery. Turns out my fluctuating cortisol leves after that surgery was just due to the stress of surgery. He didn't even touch the cushings tumor. Or if there was any there, it was sucked up.

It was the second surgery that he didn't see a tumor, but fibrous gland. He told me it was "pre hyperplasia" which means the cells are all over the gland. But in this case it was only in one spot. He cut the fibrous gland out and watching my cortisol drop to 0.9 was significant to know that he thought he got it all. He did say that he couldn't tell me for sure that this won't grow back since it was hyperplasia and they still don't know what causes it to grow, but he thought my odds were good. He was very serious about it though. I was worried.

I went back to my room and wanted to cry. I hadn't gotten my labs back yet and didn't know how I did. I figured if they did go up, that's it, it was back. I cried. Talked to my mom, my husband anyone to distract me. I went down to lunch, but wasn't hungry and still felt sick to my stomach. I got some cereal and milk and brought it upstairs to eat. Watched tv and cat napped, then went to my appt with Dr. L at 2pm.

He had the labs! YAY! Here were the results.
Baseline cortisol: 1.0 (pit is still sleeping!)
Baseline ACTH: unknown at this point
Cortisol after stim test: 2.4 (I needed to hit 18 before I could wean again. I failed. But it's all good.)
Dr. L smoothed out the wording of what Dr. M said and was more positive looking at my recent cortisol results. He said my odds were really good at this point. I hate to jinx in tho. I'm just thinking positively and will take what God has given me at this point in time.

Other numbers:
TSH: 1.38 (range .35-5.50) seems normal
Thyroxine Free T4: .67 (range .61-1.76) Low end of normal, Dr. L says I may need thyroid hormone supplement?? No T3 test tho.
Prolactin: 1.3 (numerous ranges but the closest one is 1.8-20.3 for post menopausal *sigh*)
LH: 0.8 (again numerous ranges due to cycle, but this one fits in Luteal phase, or post menopausal)
FSH: 2.2 (varies again, fits in Luteal or post menopausal again...)

I have yet to start my period post op. I've been having hot flashes sporadically. Thinking this is why tho... My cycle was totally normal to the day pre-op.

Electrolytes were on the high end of normal, but believe that was due to not having my morning meds yet. Tho glucose was high at 103 when the high end of normal was 99. Not sure if something I should be concerned about. I'm wondering if the milk and a few sips of G2 gatorade I took may have done that tho...

I also got weighed and am down 13 lbs out of the 20 I originally lost. Sitting around doing nothing and drinking sugar drinks doesn't help. But I'm working on it now. I left his office feeling good and I called everyone. I went down to dinner, ate a hamburger and some onion rings. I got myself all packed up and was ready to come home. I went to bed and actually slept pretty good. Much better than the night before.

Tuesday: I was to be waiting for the car at 8:30am. I got down early to eat a little breakfast and went to medical records to get a copy of all my labs. Was waiting just before 8:30 and it turns out the driver was early too. So we drove back to the airport, I got my boarding pass and got through security.

But then dinner and breakfast hit me. Oh man why now! Thankfully I wasn't on the plane yet. I hate plane bathrooms. So I let it all out. Thankfully I was better after that. But I bought a banana and a bottle of water just to have on the plane. I didn't eat lunch/dinner on the plane since I still wasn't feeling so hot. The flight was crazy too. Lots of turbulence. And I sat in the far back and OMG the # of people that had to go to the bathroom. Almost made me glad I didn't eat whatever they served! Thankfully I got home safely.

Hubby picked me up last night at 7pm. It was our 8th anniversary. We got each other cards and the kids got us flowers and a card with MIL's help. It was very sweet. They were up a bit late, but it was ok. I missed 'em. But after they went to bed, I turned to hubby and told him "Honey, I love you, happy anniversary, but I need to go to bed." LOL He understood and being the wonderful man he is, came to bed with me to cuddle.

Wednesday: I was worried that I would be late getting up this morning and getting the kids ready. But thankfully I did ok. I had a chiro appt after I dropped the kids off to school to adjust my back after all the plane riding. I'm resting and not doing a thing today. I slept much better than I have in the last 3 nights and I feel better today than I have in a week or so too. That stress catches up with me and I'm just glad it's over. So nice to be home. . .

Tomorrow's the day. . .off to Seattle

It's arrived. My trip to Seattle. I'm packed, so that's good! I have a tiny bag that I don't even have to check thankfully! I think I have everything I need to keep me busy on the flight, as well as once I get there for the times I'm NOT seeing the doc or getting tested. I'm gonna miss my mom on this trip. And not just cuz I can beat her at Rumikub either. *wink* It's not a big major trip, but it's still being there w/o her. She's been through this since the beginning and is probably the only one (aside from my internet friends) that truly understands this whole ordeal. I'm sure I'll be fine, but nonetheless, just want to let my mom know she'll be missed. :)

Today was ok. Slept good last night, got up to take my dose then went back to sleep til 10am. Got up and ate breakfast. Feeling a little better than I have the last few days. I actually ate a little more than I did lately too. Drinking a bit more as well. Still pretty normal tho. We basically cleaned up the house today, the kids rooms, I packed, did some laundry etc. I have a lower back ache, but it's fine once I'm resting. Just trying to do too much still I guess.

Anyway, I'm hoping to be able to post on Monday, but we'll see. Otherwise I'll post sometime on Wednesday about my results. So stay tuned...

14 weeks post op

Can't believe it's been 14 weeks already. Sunday I'm off to Seattle. I'm still not packed yet. I'm such a procrastinator. That and being busy and not feeling well. I think I'm feeling low because I am NOT feeling well at all. I've been nauseas and have not been eating much at all. I've been really tired and weak too. I've had the runs still and just feel REALLY ill.

Yesterday I was "resting" most of the day, but last night I just felt like I couldn't do much at all. I hit the chair and almost fell asleep. I was nauseas and didn't eat dinner. I couldn't help my hubby take care of the kids. I just had little energy. I'm feeling similar today, tho the nausea is less. I'm still not eating much and I've only had the runs this morning. I just feel like I could fall asleep right now. We're going out to dinner and then coming home and hopefully going to bed. Well maybe I'll pack before I go to bed. Ugh. I'm so not looking forward to flying. I just hope I do ok. I can't even stress dose. Well I could, but that would defeat the purpose of the test. So pray that I get there w/o having any issues.

Meetings meetings and more meetings...

Thursday is actually my quiet day and I'm looking forward to it! Tuesday and tonight I've been running the kids around then going to meetings in the evenings.... Nothing like keeping up with the PTA and my moms of multiples club.

I'm feeling ok though thankfully. I've been able to get up in the morning, I'm sleeping good at night. I still get slight headaches on and off, and aches in my neck/shoulder and knees. I have this list of questions for my doc and look forward to getting some answers. I just hate having to go all the way to Seattle to do it and leave my family. I worry about the flights and all... Making sure the planes get off and land safely... Ugh. 4 more days before then though, so I won't think about it til then.

I did get my haircut yesterday (finally) and it actually made me feel much better about myself! I look so much better! In my opinion anyway! hehe! Definitely makes me feel better than I have since before surgery. Makes me feel after all I've been through, I can conquer anything! :)

Manic Monday!!

Today was a crazy busy day. Trying to get into the schedule of this new school season. Dropped the kiddos off to school, went to my chiro, ran some errands, came home to rest for a bit, picked up the kids, get them a snack, get them dinner, take them to CCD, pick them up from CCD, give them evening snack and get them to bed. Phew. And that's just Monday. hehe! Tomorrow I have my repeat mammogram, a haircut and to take my son to karate - on top of school.

I did ok today though. Ate fine, drank normally, but still did get a headache. Took my excedrin. I had a knot in my shoulder today, that my chiro had a tough time working out. Not sure what was going on. I've iced it today, but will probably need more tonight. I'll lay on the ice when I go to bed here soon. One day down, four more to go. . .

Feeling blaaaahhh...

I am really missing my energy. And I've had a headache for the last 2 days. I think it may partly be a caffeine headache, but I'm not sure. It could be a weaning headache as well. But either way it goes away (for the most part) when I drink caffeine (love my Pepsi) or take an Excedrin Migraine. The funny thing is, the headache is different than my normal headache. I couldn't bend over w/o it hurting a LOT. But a can of Pepsi and an ice pack and it feels better. Weird.

Saturday around 2am, I woke up not feeling so good. Like I was going to get sick. I worked myself all up in a tizzy that I was going to get sick and wind up in the hospital. Thankfully I was able to talk myself out of it. Not sure what happened there either. But it was scary. I am worried about the kids coming home with something and me getting it. I have to ask Dr. L if he can give me something to ease my nerves when this happens. I swear I could make myself sick. :(

In any case, I slept ok last night. I'm still eating very little. My drinking is back to normal - meaning I'm not drinking as much, which may be part of my headache issue as well since I may be dehydrated. Ugh. I hate wondering and not knowing. I see Dr. L in one week, so hopefully I'll get my answers then. Writing all this down until then.

And yet another weekend.

Slept good last night and got up ok this morning. Still not eating too much, but it's still not settling well in my stomach. Took the kiddos to school and rested some when I got home. Did some cleaning and organizing of the house.

Picked the kiddos up from school and came home. It was too hot outside to do much. Then we ended up going out to dinner. Again, I didn't feel well enough to know what I really wanted to order. Nothing seemed real yummy. Odd. I ate a small dinner and and only drank one cup of soda (which I think is a first) and now we're home. Not an overly exciting day. No headache so I can't complain. My knees are swelling up again. I hate that...

The first day of school comes and goes

It was a very busy day yesterday, for the kiddos first day of 1st grade and thankfully I survived it. Tuesday night into Wednesday, I slept very little. I was so nervous. About everything, not just my kids going back to school. But that started it and then I couldn't stop myself. In any case, it was a restless night. So I didn't have too much trouble getting up yesterday morning.

Hubby and I took the kids to school. The kids were excited and yet nervous too. They did really well tho going off into their own classes. Hubby went to work and I came home. It wasn't til I got home and it was so unnervingly quiet, that I broke down. I missed my babies and I felt guilty that summer went so fast and I felt like I didn't spend as much time with them as I wanted. I know I needed to go through the surgery and deal with the recovery, but I felt some remaining guilt. It didn't last too long though. I had my chiro appt and thankfully the doc was able to adjust my back which made it feel SOO much better. Then I came home...

Kids only have half days this week, so I had to finally shower and get ready to get them at 1:15. (One perk from surgery is that I don't look horrible the next day when I don't shower. So no one could guess I didn't shower. VERY nice. ;) Pre surgery I had to shower twice a day sometimes, I was so greasy...) So when I picked the kids up, they were so excited. They had a great day. I let them play on the playground, then I took my son to his allergy appt and let my daughter stay at her friends house for a playdate. Let's just say by the time dinner came around, I was crashing. I was tired, I had a headache and then it dawned on me. I had forgotten to take my 3pm hydro dose. Ugh.

So I guess I was weaning then. And I felt it. I ate a small dinner and then ended up going to bed and was asleep by 10pm. (Hubby started his grad classes, so I was on my own and I didn't feel comfy sleeping until he came home!) I slept like a baby tho the minute my head hit that pillow.

I had a harder time waking up this morning. I was able to drop the kiddos off to school and then I came back, ate some breakfast and then laid on the couch. I dozed off and on. I finally got up, cleaned up a little bit and then my MIL showed up. She wanted to see the kids new teachers and pick them up with me. Then we went out to lunch. (Well her and I got lunch and the kids got a drink and a snack.) Then we came home. I have not been feeling well. Tired, achy, and the headache. The weaning headache; where you move and it hurts. It was actually good that MIL was here today, as she did the laundry and ironed hubby's shirts for me. She played with the kiddos and kept them busy.

I did take my son to his karate class and she cooked dinner. She was definitely a help. I hate feeling like this. So tired and icky. I took an excedrin and drank a diet coke and now of course everything is fine and I'm dealing with the leftover caffeine. I am off to bed here soon tho.

Definitely eating very little today. And I don't know if I want to jinx myself, but I think my thirst ordeal is FINALLY back to normal. I'm definitely not drinking as much anymore - even at night. Still dealing with the runs (sorry), but this time I think it's the weaning since I've been off the antibiotics for 2 days. But who knows. Overall, I'm ok. But I'll be better when my body adjusts again. . .

Last day of summer. . .

I know technically it's not til the 21st, but with the kids going back to school - it is. I made the most of today, even tho I was just not up to par. I had the worst headache, I had a hard time getting up and my tummy is still not feelin' so hot either. Thankfully a very SMART friend made me realize my tummy issues could be from the antibiotics. *wink* I think she's right.

In any case, I took all my meds, added in some excedrin, a few cups of coca cola and I went to play whatever my kids wanted me too. I feel like I haven't been "there" for them all summer due to my being sick, so I wanted to try to make it up to them this last day. We played games inside and out. I went in the sprinkler with them and everything. It was actually a very fun day. :)

I still can't believe they start school tomorrow. 1st grade. Wow. Time really does fly. I'm glad I got the surgery done in June so I can really enjoy their 1st day of school again. I might not be in the best shape in the morning (especially since I'm getting such a late start getting to bed!) but I'll be there. I think I over doped myself on caffeine today. *roll eyes* But I'll be there. Taking pictures and all. Hopefully I get some good shots. hehe!

I feel ok. Neck/shoulder pain is still minor, but that's about it. I'll prolly lay on some ice again when I go lay down for bed. I see my chiro tomorrow, so I'm hoping he can straighten my back out. In any case, I'm off to bed. It's going to be an emotional day tomorrow and I need all the rest my body can get!

Happy Labor Day!!

Well I've still been taken my extra dose. I ended up taking 20mg in the morning and 10mg in the afternoon starting on Sunday. I knew I still needed it for now. My neck and shoulder are feeling better and even the swelling in my knee has gone down. I'll stop taking it Wednesday and get back to where I was.

But yesterday we ended up going to my IL's for a "Back to School" pool party. I didn't go in the pool, just watched the kiddos do it. I did just fine - no need for any naps. *wink* I was glad to get home and did have a small case of the runs. I ate more than I have in awhile and even drank more than I had in a few days. My belly wasn't ready for all that though. In any case, I was ok. I took an ice pack to bed to put on my back and fell asleep pretty quickly.

This morning I tried to get up earlier, still trying to get into "school" mode. I'm having SUCH a hard time. I got up, but came right to my chair. I kept dozing off and on, but finally hubby had made breakfast. I ate, drank some OJ and was feeling much better. My throat doesn't hurt anymore and I can finally look right and left. My back still aches and I think I may have a pinched nerve or disk or something. I can feel a more specific pain now. Hopefully when I go to my appt with the chiro on Wed, he'll give me an idea of what he thinks is going on.

I still am eating and drinking good. And oddly enough, I still have the runs. Not sure why or if I'm still overdoing it. We didn't do anything today. Or should I say that *I* didn't do anything. Kiddos went shopping with hubby and then bowling. I relaxed and am finally on the 5th book of Harry Potter! Yay! I'll get to the 6th book before seeing the movie yet! hehe!

I'm about to put the kids to bed and then I'll be laying in bed as well. Hoping if I can go down earlier, it will make it easier to get up in the morning. I still think it's med related, but if I go to bed and am asleep by or before 10pm, maybe I'll be more ready to get up earlier. It may or may not work, but I gotta try. We'll see. I hope anyone reading this had a good labor day tho. :)
